June S. Anderson Foundation
The June S. Anderson Foundation awards yearly full tuition scholarships to full-time MTSU undergraduate women who are 23 years of age or older and who are preparing for careers in nontraditional fields for women.
Overview and Purpose
Staffed entirely by volunteers, the June S. Anderson Foundation annually awards two to three full tuition scholarships to MTSU undergraduate women aged 23 or older. The Foundation was started more than 30 years ago by June Anderson, the first female full professor at MTSU, and it has awarded nearly $500,000 in scholarships.
The ultimate purpose of the Foundation is to address the gender gap in earnings by encouraging women to enter professions and fields of study that have traditionally been closed to women.
