Rutherford County Democratic Women
Mission Statement
RCDW’S mission is to actively support Democratic women for public office through contributions raised from our fundraising events throughout the year and at the TFDW Annual Convention.
Overview and Purpose
The Rutherford County Democratic Women (RCDW) is a group of women dedicated to active support of all Democratic nominees, particularly, Democratic women, for public office. Public office is defined as a paid, elective office in local, state, or federal government. Our organization does not endorse any candidate during a primary election. RCDW supports the Domestic Violence Program & Sexual Assault Services of Rutherford County and through the Tennessee Federation of Democratic Women (TFDW), to which we belong as an independent club, The Anna Belle Clement O'Brien College Scholarship. RCDW advances Democratic principles and Get Out the Vote (GOTV); promotes issues and candidates of the Democratic Party; and encourages friendships and cooperation among Democratic women of Rutherford County. Monthly meetings are held on the 3d Saturday
and also feature guest speakers.
The purposes of RCDW are:
-
to endorse and support actively the Democratic nominees in all general elections
-
to encourage and stimulate Democratic Women to take an active interest and to assume leadership roles in party matters
-
to inform Democratic Women and the community on major issues of government and politics
-
and to sponsor the women’s activities of the Democratic National Committee.
