Representatives of many of the organization founding members of Advance Rutherford met Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, at the Forest Oaks I Clubhouse at 1002 East Northfield in Murfreesboro.
The meeting, led by organizer Ayne Cantrell, recognized all of the current 11 founding member organizations. Discussion was held and a decision was made to name a recruiting committee to actively search for potential organizations to join Advance Rutherford. A committee was formed, and work will begin immediately to identify area organizations that have an interest in women's and girls' issues.
Committee reports included Communications, with the development of a logo, a Website and a form to collect information from member organizations. An organizational fact sheet was reviewed and will be sent to the founding member organizations for review and questions. Research on the voting powers, process and dues was discussed, as well as an approach for managing member lists for blanket communications. A draft of the organization's bylaws and incorporation information was distributed.
